Medical Malpractice Lawyer
Laura Nielson is an attorney with G. Eric Nielson & Associates. She graduated the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2013, having taken every Health Law course available at the school. As the 2013 recipient of the Steven Magleby Memorial Award for distinguished service in disability law advocacy, Ms. Nielson earned her stripes as a health law advocate by volunteering and interning with the Utah Autism Coalition, Utah Autism Academy, Utah Health Policy Project, and Utahans for Medicaid Expansion.
Prior to joining G. Eric Nielson & Associates, Ms. Nielson practiced ERISA law in Federal Court, primarily suing insurance companies for wrongfully denying medical and disability claims. Insurance law continues to be a special interest for Ms. Nielson, which helps serve her new clientele, as clients who have suffered medical malpractice often also need assistance with insurance claims.
On her personal time, Ms. Nielson enjoys working with teens, specifically at risk high school students. Ms. Nielson is a Big Sister Alumnus, who now focuses on tutoring high school kids as they take the ACT exam and write their personal statements. She has a particular interest in helping kids with special needs, and has tutored children with dyslexia, traumatic brain injuries, ADHD, and stress-induced impairments.
